PANDEMONIUM IN OSUN AS GROUP OF HOODLUMS CLASH WITH HAUSA TRADERS

REPORT FROM OSUN STATE HAS IT THAT GROUP OF HOODLUMS LED BY A MAN SIMPLY IDENTIFIED AS ‘IKEJA ’ AND SOME HAUSA TRADERS TODAY ENGAGED IN A BLOODY CLASH IN SABO AREA OF OSOGBO, THE STATE CAPITAL.

ACCORDING TO REPORT, THE CLASH WAS CAUSED WHEN THE HAUSA TRADERS RESIST TO GIVE MONEY TO SOME HOODLUMS WHO OFTEN COME TO EXTORT THEM OF THEIR INCOMES AFTER CLOSE OF SALES.

TROUBLE STARTED WHEN THE HOODLUMS CAME AGAIN TODAY, BUT THE HAUSA TRADERS IN THE SABO MARKET WERE WELL PREPARED FOR A FACEOFF AND IT ESCALATED AS THE CLASH RESULTED TO MANY SUSTAINING INJURIES AND DESTRUCTION OF PROPERTIES.

NO CASUALTY WAS HOWEVER CONFIRMED AS THE TIMELY INTERVENTION OF THE OSUN STATE POLICEMEN ENSURED THAT THE SITUATION WAS BROUGHT UNDER CONTROL.

CONFIRMING THE REPORT ON TELEPHONE TO JATTO 102.7 FM REPORTER, THE OSUN STATE POLICE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER, DSP OPALOLA YEMISI OLAWOYIN SAYS ARMED POLICEMEN HAVE BEEN DEPLOYED TO THE AREA TO MAINTAIN CALMNESS AND NORMALCY HAVE SINCE RETURNED TO THE AREA.

SHE ALSO TOOK TIME TO EXPLAIN HOW IT ALL HAPPENED AND WHAT LED TO THE CLASH.
